Prolost Flat

I recently came across this post from Stu Maschwitz about how to set up Canon DSLR’s to give your shots a much more flat profile, which the intention that you will be color correcting in post. He calls it Prolost Flat. It is pretty easy to set up and really just knocks down the contrast and sharpness as well as reducing a bit of saturation.
I feel like most of the footage I have shot with my T1i has been too sharp and contrasty, and looked harsh, but since trying this out, I feel like everything is a bit more even feeling, which should make it easier to push things around in AE and Premiere. If I shoot anything worth viewing, I’ll put it up and maybe do a before and after comparison.

Time-lapse and the Canon T1i

I have had a Canon T1i for about 1 year now, and I just love it. I also love time lapse footage and have always wanted to do more than the few experiments I did in college using super 8 film.
So a few weeks ago I purchased the Opteka Timer Remote Control for my camera, and now I can easily do time lapse. The controller is pretty basic but it does exactly what is needs to. It’s only short coming
is that it doesn’t turn off.

Anyhow, here is one of my shots.
